Pig Enclosure Groundworks & Fencing Improvements For Loki's Lodge
With grant support, the team kicked off upgrades to create a healthier, safer environment for pigs - starting with groundworks to improve drainage and quick fencing repairs for security.

What’s been done
- Groundworks completed with the area having been graded and several loads of sand/rock mix laid.
- Temporary fencing repairs so pigs can be safely housed while the contractor schedules the full fencing scope.
- Immediate results. After the latest heavy rains, conditions improved markedly (see photo below).
Thanks to donated labour, the project is currently under budget - a great outcome that stretches the impact of the grant.
What’s next
- Allow the substrate to settle, then add another load of sand to further improve footing and drainage.
- Contractor to return and complete the full fencing upgrade.
